Neville Wakem

Neville has an extensive performance background as a professional singer, dancer, and actor in theatre, television and cabaret, initially at Downstage in Wellington, with vocal residencies at The White Heron Lodge, The Pines, The Abel Tasman Hotel and James Cook Hotel, and later overseas in Hong Kong and Japan.

He first appeared on television in TVNZ’s 68/69 New Year’s Eve Show with the Belcanto Trio. This was followed by a role in “Close To Home”, and as a dancer on “Ready To Roll”.  Later television appearances included roles in “A Haunting We Will Go”, “Post Natal Depression”, “Tough At The Bottom” and “Kids From O.W.L.” Neville was also the vocalist on the very first Griffin’s Gingernuts TV ad jingle.

That was followed by eleven years as a Radio Announcer in both private and state broadcasting, including Radio Windy, 3ZP New Plymouth, 3ZB Christchurch, The Breeze Wellington, and Classic Hits Wellington

Currently he is self-employed in the IT industry here in Christchurch and continues to do voicework including commercials, on-hold announcements, and video voiceovers.
